The objective of Herschel-James Photography is to tell a photographic story of your wedding day, from start to finish. We pride ourselves on the authenticity of our images and uphold the standards and ethics of photojournalism.

Our job is not to create the perfect image; our job is to find the perfect image. To do this, we combine professional skills and honed talent. While photographing a wedding we remain constantly aware of the settings and situations that will tell the story of your day and yield beautiful images.

Formal portraits, often considered the antithesis of photojournalism, are very important on a wedding day, and we recognize this. When it comes to formals, our goal is to accomodate you. We can spend twenty minutes on portraits, or we can spend two hours.

Lastly, it is important to us that we make you feel comfortable. Whether you want us to be a fly on the wall or act as your shadow – it’s all about you.
